Decided to get back in the saddle and start drawing and working in photoshop again.
It is a drawing done by me of a succulent I potted around Christmas time. It is the Kalanchoe Thyrsiflora variety, and it is one of my favorites.
I’m definitely out of practice, but it feels good to be making digital repeat patterns again. Went from staring at my potted plant in my window to having a fully colored image in only a couple of hours. Since this was more of a warm up exercise, I’d like to start over with it and give my choices a little more thought.
I am happy to report I am now a volunteer assistant at the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Folk Art!

By the incredible Lauren Dicioccio: http://www.laurendicioccio.com
Definitely one of the most moving pieces I’ve seen in a long time.
She had a residency last year at SF Recology, and I had no idea.
Damn.
edit//: Not all is lost! She will be doing a solo show at the Jack Fischer Galleryin August 2012!
